Self Care For Your Business

Things have been crazy! Running a small business is not for the weak of heart. I have been running full tilt keeping up with my customers' needs – building websites, posting on social media, creating editorial calendars, and even helping them with their blogs. That, plus running a theatre company, and keeping the house running and two dogs alive leaves me little time for myself – or my own business!

Self care for your business is as important as self care for, well, yourself. You spend all your time caring for others, your vendors, employees, and your clients, so you have little energy left at the end of the day to take care of your own company. As individual people, we know the importance of self care. We make time for social activities with family and friends. We reward ourselves with glasses of good wine, a hot bubble bath, or cycling or surfing on the weekends.

But rarely do we remember to make time for

self care at our businesses.

What does self care for you business mean? It is exactly the same. It is making time to socialise and build relationships with existing and potential customers through social media. It is cleansing your website and keeping it updated and looking and feeling fresh. It is taking a few minutes at the end of a long day to exercise your communication skills by chatting about a little something fun with your blog subscribers. So remember to take care of yourselves AND your businesses out there! You're both worth it!
